John Kach
                     Motivational Speaker

My name is John Kach and I am a motivational/public speaker.  I have been an athlete all of my life.  I played basketball, football and baseball.  I was on my college basketball team and I contribute that as one of the reasons why I am still alive today.

I contracted bacterial meningitis when I was a freshman in college, two weeks after my basketball season ended on March 11, 2000.  I was put into a drug induced coma and then giving my last rights as the disease spread throughout my body.  My vital organs were shutting down and I needed machines to keep me alive.  As I held on to life while in the coma I went into septic shock which caused gangue green to set in which forced the doctors to amputate all of my fingers on both hands, my right leg below the knee and part of my left foot, due to nerve damage I decided to have my left leg amputated below the knee 2 years later.   I was in Rhode Island Hospital for 3 months and then I was transferred to Burke Rehabilitation Center in New York.

While at Burke I had to relearn how to do everything all over again.  Everything that we take for granted I needed to relearn from brushing my teeth, dressing myself, eating to walking.  I did all of this while being positive, knowing that would be the only way to overcome what I had went through.  I walked out of Burke Rehab in December of 2000.

I have learned a lot about the inner strength that we all have, so I now speak about adversities and how to overcome them and how your character is tested.  I believe in the saying "Adversities fuel achievement" and after I speak to your group so will YOU.

Things I will discuss in my keynotes:

Adversities Fuel Achievement: I will talk about what fueled me to be where I am today.

  • Believe in yourself:  You will never complete your goal without believing in yourself.  You need to have positive people around you to get the most out of yourself.

  • Adversity:  You must face your challenge directly.  We can overcome anything, its all about overcoming that challenge and know you can conquer it.

  • Perseverance:  Everyone can complete their goals as long as you do one simple thing.  Give yourself a chance and DO NOT QUIT!

  • Setting Goals:  To achieve your goals you must set them.  Write them down, look at them everyday.  When you fully commit to your goals physically, mentally and spiritually you will achieve them.

  • Achieving your Goals:   Remember what got you to your goals, I try not to look at the big picture but the little things that will create that big picture.  Follow the steps and the adversity that you were faced with will turn into achievement.

After experiencing John's program, your people will know what it takes to overcome any obstacles that they may face in life.
